  1.  What is Interlibrary Loan?
    Interlibrary Loan is a service provided by the University Library to help students, staff and faculty to obtain materials (books or articles) not owned by local library.Interlibrary borrowing and lending are made possible through cooperative agreements in which participating libraries permit the use of their collections.
  2.  Who may use Interlibrary Loan?
    All KU faculty, staff and students can benefit from the ILL services. External members, however, are not entitled to request books from other libraries.
  3.  What material is available via ILL? 
    Items not held by KU Library including books, journals articles, conference papers, theses, etc. All KU faculty, staff and students can benefit from the ILL services. External members, however, are not entitled to request books from other libraries.
  4. Items not available through ILL
    Items not available through interlibrary loan include reference materials, books in special collections such as KU Collection, Academic Works, whole issues or volumes of serials and all audio visual materials.
  5. How to request materials?
    Request forms for interlibrary loan are available at KU Library reference desk on the 1st floor during library hours. Before you order material, you need to make sure that the exact or similar material is not available at KU Library. All users must apply by coming to the Library. Requester should provide full bibliographic information of the book that is going to be borrowed through ILL service before submitting her/his request. 
  6. How long does it take?
    The everage time for delivery of an interlibrary loan items is about two weeks. Sometimes the library must request the material from several libraries before successfully obtaining it. This may takes longer than the usual two weeks.
  7. Notification
    Users will be notified when requested materials have arrived at KU Library. You may choose to be notified by phone or e-mail.
  8. Loan Period
    Loan periods are established by the lending library. In general, loan periods range from two to three weeks. All interlibrary loan items must be returned by the due date.
  9. How to renew materials?
    If you find that you need to keep your ILL material for longer than the loan period given, please contact reference librarian about three days in advance of the due date. The librarian will then ask the lending library to extend the due date. The lending library is solely responsible for the decision of how long to extend the due date, and it may decide not to renew.
  10.  Overdues
    User have to pay 5 baht per day late fee for overdue interlibrary loans materials.
